It was a tough journey to change people's minds, who believe epilepsy is a curse and also a witchcraft.

I began my epilepsy supporting journey in 2015 by creating an epilepsy awareness campaign which touched the community. We formed a community-based organization known as Ufanisi Progressive Group for People with Epilepsy, to help them change their lives; to live active lives. It was a tough journey to change people's minds - people who believe epilepsy is a curse and also a witchcraft. We created awareness at schools, community meetings, and the leaders meetings. People with epilepsy were neglected and discriminated against, which made their lives miserable. No medication, so they were denied their rights, which caused stigma. Now there is a very big change - so many people are understanding epilepsy.
