Susan Fong, MD, PhD is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and Neurology at the University of Cincinnati and serves as the Director of the Ketogenic Diet Program at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. Her clinical interests are in genetic epilepsies and the ketogenic diet. Dr. Fong completed undergraduate studies at Pomona College and graduated from the University of Rochester School of Medicine after completion of the combined MD, PhD program with a PhD in Neuroscience. She completed her Pediatric residency at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital followed by Child Neurology residency and Epilepsy fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD.
Dr. Fong is board certified in Neurology with Special Qualifications in Child Neurology and board certified in Epilepsy. She is an active member of the American Epilepsy Society, Pediatric Epilepsy Research Consortium, American Clinical Neurophysiology Society, and International Neurological Ketogenic Society. She has research interests in clinical trials for drug development, rare epilepsy syndromes, genetic epilepsy, dietary therapy, and transition of care for young adults with epilepsy.
Dr. Fong joined the National Professional Advisory Committee in January, 2026.
