Epilepsy Alliance America attends 2025 National Association of School Nurses Conference

Epilepsy Alliance America was proud to attend the Annual Meeting of the National Association of School Nurses held in Austin, Texas on June 25-27, 2025. Representing Epilepsy Alliance America were Amanda Mitchell, Epilepsy Alliance America Board member and Lisa Gallipoli, Executive Director.
More than 1,000 school nurses from across the United States were in attendance. School nurses play a critical role in keeping students seizure safe in schools and are often responsible for educating and training teachers, administrators, and other school personnel on Seizure Recognition and Response.
Epilepsy Alliance America was thrilled to attend workshops for attendees which provided education for school nurses about Functional Seizures (PNES) as well as Mental Health and Epilepsy. NASN debuted their new Mental Health Toolkit for School Nurses Caring for Students wiht Epilepsy at the conference.
Epilepsy Alliance America sponsors, Neurelis and UCB, also exhibited at the conference. Miles Levin led a discussion Light Up Epilepsy: Exploring the Stigma of Epilepsy in the School Settings.
Epilepsy Alliance America looks forward to attending next year's Annual Meeting of the National Association of School Nurses in Las Vegas, Nevada.
