Epilepsy Alliance America attends National Association of School Nurses 2024 Conference
Epilepsy Alliance America participated in the 56th Annual National Association of School Nurses (NASN) Conference: NASN2024 – Stronger Together in Chicago, Illinois from June 28 – July 1, 2024. This was the first time that Epilepsy Alliance America participated in this dynamic conference. More than 1,200 school nurses from across the country were in attendance.
Epilepsy Alliance America representatives, Lisa Gallipoli (COO) and Amanda Mitchell (Board Member, Program Committee Chair) talked with representatives from across the country about providing support for teachers and students regarding epilepsy and seizures.
It was exciting to hear updates from the NASN Workgroup about the Seizures and Epilepsy: Clinical Practice Guidelines and Toolkit. Amanda Mitchell serves as a member of the Advisory Group that has been reviewing the new guidelines and toolkit which will assist schools nurses in improving the helth and safety of students with epilepsy.
