Here are some highlights of the NASN offerings:

NASN’s new no-cost NCPD program, School Nurse Epilepsy Clinical Practice Guidelines and Toolkit Training will describe the School Nursing Evidence-Based Clinical Practice Guideline: Students with Seizures and Epilepsy and Implementation Toolkit, both based on the most recent and highest-quality evidence available to help you identify a plan for implementation of the recommendations and resources for the upcoming school year.

NASN has launched a new no-cost NCPD program, Mental Health Challenges for Students with Epilepsy: Practice Considerations for School Nurses. This program provides information on the impact, risk factors, health disparities, and incidence of mental health challenges specific to students with seizures/epilepsy and the role of the school nurse in caring for these students.

The Impact of Stigma on Students with Seizures/Epilepsy
The free NASN NCPD program (1 contact hour), Epilepsy Care Considerations for School Nurses: Stigma and Sudden Unexplained Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP), offers school nurses valuable information about the effects of stigma on students with seizures/epilepsy, aiming to improve school nurse practice and provide better care for students with epilepsy. The program addresses the identification of stigma and strategies to reduce it; and SUDEP risks, causes, and methods to inform others.
